When you log in to My Office Help Desk Support secure online help desk you are prompted to download a temporary desktop sharing application and supporting tools that allow us to view and interact with your computer. Once your service is complete and you log off, the temporary application and accompanying tools are automatically deleted from your PC. We can no longer see or access your computer.

Does My Office Help Desk provide support for Windows 98 and 2000?

My Office Help Desk provides limited support for Windows 98 and 2000. Due to the age of these platforms Microsoft no longer provides up-to-date Microsoft Service Tools for these platforms. My Office Help Desk does however provide support for your Windows 98 or 2000 computer with the following services that involve networking and device support:

  • PC peripheral
  • wireless network
  • MP3 player
  • digital camera
  • digital video camera setups
  • and software installations.
For Windows XP and Windows Vista platforms we provide a full range of support options, this includes all the services listed above as well as technical service subscriptions, remote backup and PC security subscriptions, PC Diagnostics, TuneUps, and Optimizations, applications training, Virus and Spyware Removal, smartphone services, and blocks of service minutes.

How long does an average support session last?

Online support sessions can last anywhere from 15 to 120 minutes, depending on the type of help you need.

In some cases, a computer may need a comprehensive tune-up due to a severe case of spyware. This could take over an hour. In other situations, you may be looking for set up and training support for a new MP3 player or digital camera. These sessions ma2y be as short as 30 minutes.

For simple problems, like locating a lost file or fixing an email problem, you can get help in as little as 15 minutes.

When is online PC service available?

Scheduled service is available Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM pacific time. For Premium support is available 24/7.

Is it secure?

We use a 128-bit encrypted connection between your computer and the technician's computer. In this way, you have set up a unique one-to-one session that no one else can view or access during the session.

In addition, you are in control the whole time. Only you can initiate a remote support session and you can end a session by simply closing the support window on your desktop. You are always in control of your mouse (cursor). During your session you will see the technician using your cursor to locate and fix problems. At any time you can over-ride mouse control by simply moving your mouse.

Do you charge to diagnose my computer?

Yes. However, the better you can describe your problems the less time it will take to diagnose your computer and begin fixing problems.

In some cases, your problems may be difficult to diagnose or cannot be located. At My Office Help Desk Support, we will do everything we can to identify and resolve your computer or technology issues, or at the very least, provide suggestions and next steps on resolving any issues.

For PCs that are over 4 years old, or running Windows 98 or older, we suggest you consider purchasing a new computer before spending a lot of money attempting to repair an older computer or attempting to install a new product (iPod, MP3 player, digital camera).
